Eureka Technology Delivers ARM-to-PCI Core to Solectek Corporation
Los Altos, Calif., (July 9th, 2001) -- In its ongoing commitment to provide
resusable intellectual property (IP) cores, Eureka Technology Inc.
(Los Altos, Calif.) today announces the delivery of the ARM-to-PCI Host Bridge
IP core to Solectek Corporation, a manufacturer of wireless connectivity
products located in San Diego, California. Solecteck Corporation is an ARM
licensee.
The ARM-to-PCI Host Bridge connects the ARM AHB bus with the PCI bus. As a
system host bridge, it transfers data between the ARM CPU and any PCI devices
in both directions. It also configures the PCI bus and allocates PCI address
space during system initialization. The CPU bus and the PCI bus run at
different clock domains that are asynchronous to each other. The core is
compliant with PCI Local Bus Specification Rev 2.2. It is available in both
Verilog and VHDL source code format and it supports Application Specific
Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Programmable Logic Device (PLD) implementations.
"Time-to-market is a very critical factor in the success of our leading edge
technology products" said David Gell, Hardware Development Manager at
Solectek Corporation (San Diego, CA). "Using IP cores allows us to shorten
our design schedule and at the same time expand our design team's capability.
We are able to focus our resources in key communication technologies while
bringing in outside expertise in PCI and ARM buses design."
"The ARM-to-PCI Host Bridge core exemplifies our support for embedded systems
based on various CPU cores" said Simon Lau, president of Eureka Technology.
"This core is built upon our experience in PCI bus, CPU interface and data
connectivity in System-on-Chip (SoC) design. We are very happy that this core
is well received by our customers and business partners."
Other IP cores from Eureka Technology includes system controller for PowerPC,
SH2/SH3/SH4 CPU, MIPS, and ARC CPU, PCI bus controller and bridges, SDRAM
controller, DMA, UART and other system control functions. Product information
is available directly from Eureka Technology's Web site, located at
